ABOUT US....SERENITY FARMS - family owned, practicing traditional farming methods in Gratiot County Michigan, the "Middle of the Mitten". We raise natural colored Corriedale sheep, a few barn cats, flowers, herbs and vegetables - using knowledge passed down to us and gained from experience. Together we share a happy life on this piece of ground. God has given us work, a home and family that we love. Our goal is to honor and serve Him in our daily life and it would bless us to share that with you! We invite you to visit through our webpages or contact us if you have questions or comments. As seasons change, so may this website, please check back often for updates. Please contact us at the address above, but email can be finicky so an old-fashioned phone call is still the surest way to reach us.
WHAT'S NEW? I would like to thank everyone for their care, concern and prayers since our world took an unexpected turn in January 2007. It has been a long struggle with Bill's health, but it has not been without many blessings along the way - and friends and family are surely right at the top of the list! God is good, and He is faithful. After nineteen days in the hospital (including a long stay in intensive care, with an hour drive both to and from) followed by three months at a live-in rehabilitation facility, Bill is now home with us here on the farm and learning to walk again.
In the midst of this all, we have dispersed our beloved herd of Percheron horses - all but Sam and Lisa. These old girls will live out their days here. I am especially thankful for the new homes that Stella and Rochester will have, both are near by.
I hope to be better at keeping up with things in coming days, and I look forward to visiting with many of you. This world is filled with wonderful people, and we are blessed to know so many! ~ Bill & Cary Smith and Family
